REPAIRING FURNITURE

The maintenance of the yard and the LABYRINTHS are big jobs. The
grass is important for the impressions visitors get when they enter the
yard. Organizing the piles of wood and branches creates interesting new
vistas.
After a winter with lots of snow some furniture has been broken.
With great enthusiasm Martijn has started to fix two side tables in the
yard.
Repairing a road sign is not a usual job, but gives new experiences
to understand the various technical problems in an art center.
Also activities outside the art center are important and part of the
program. The Mattias Memorial is a developing community project. At
first the spot at the railway station had to be cleaned-up.

Silvia Casilli - Italy - artist-in-residence July 2011
I have been really impressed by the enthusiasm and care with which
Martijn has begun his work in the centre since his first day of
permanence. This attitude I think will allow him to learn a lot taking
an active part in the projects and activities of the centre. My best
greeting to him!
Marijke Bongers - the Netherlands - artist-in-residence - July 2011
We had the pleasure to meet at the art centre Saksala ArtRadius in
Finland. I'm very curious how your work will develop the years after
this intense trainee period! You will be surprised how Finland stays
whit you after you are in the Netherlands again. I love!!!! the colored
hay sticks for the memorial!
