PRESS RELEASE
The remarkable wire sculptures of Nadia Zubareva are unique
expressions of a very talented Russian artist. In her personal way on
exploring the human figure she uses a simple material to build the
transparent sculptures.
It is the thin metal wire, which is used to create the space in and
around the sculpture, which combines transparency with the monumental
nature of the more than life-sized figures.
The figures are fixed in an open frame with countless wires, which
highlight the graphical effect of her technique. It also points out to
the contrast between its realistic and intangible character as there is
light going through the figures which creates extra space.
The light on and through the sculptures changes the character and
place an important part in the presentation. The series below shows
the result of different light and its direction.
The themes of Nadia Zubareva's works are related to daily life and
they are proof of her quality with which she is able to add new and intriguing
layers to these themes.
