EXHIBITION FLY IN THE SKY 2005

  • EXHIBITIONS ALLAPRIMA MUSEUM -INDEX-
  • FLY IN THE SKY 1 June 2005

  • During the exhibition with the works from the art education course 'FLY IN THE SKY' visitors can see the intensive way of working from the children and the adults.

The paintings are full of color and the the way the paint is used is to find new forms in the painting.

The age of the children was from 7 up to 15 years and the participating adults were teachers from primary schools.

Painting with gouache on papers is different than working with acrylic paint on cotton. The first material gives a covered layer, the acrylic stays transparent because of the water in it.

In the beginning the forms are not so clear, but after the second painting the children are more sure and know how to work.

The appointments invite the children to make new solutions for common things.

mixing two colors and not first draw, but paint from the beginning

the forms can grow to all kind of animals, they are not realistic, but expressive

animals build up like in the 'bremer stadsmuzikanten'

the animals can also placed in circles

all the time the children get the same colors, white, citron yellow, yellow ochre, vermillion, carmine, light blue and ultramarine

mixing the paint is personal just as the handwriting, it makes the painting real individual

working with acrylic paint on cotton

animals are placed on the back of eachother

painting different kind of houses in a rural area

    on the top of hills

tree houses are different than normal houses and by painting new solutions can be found

a special problem is the way how to enter the tree house, how can the stairs be painted

also letters and objects can be used to build towers in the air

the technique asks to start with transparent light colors and in the next layers to work with more covering paint

the exhibition was in the garden from the art center, visitors could walk through the banners

and see the paintings on the walls

This project FLY IN THE SKY could be realized by the support of Etelä-Savon Kulttuurirahasto 2005 .
