During March 2008, three arts professionals developed a methodology for collaborating that connected the two very different arts practices of Behrouz Rae and Ilse van den Berk.
Particiapting
artists:
Claire Watson - Australia - installation artist and curator
Ilse van den Berk - the Netherlands - painter
Behrouz Rae - Iran - photographer and installation artist
Place:
art centre Saksala ArtRadius - Finland - artist-in-residence
The idea started with discussion, planning, and looking for a common
reference point.
Based on the works the artists were developing and the place where they
were living for a period of time the project:
SOJOURN IN WHITE was created.
The installation of Behrouz in the attic of the art centre and the
painted compositions of Ilse became the initial ingredients of the collaboration.
As the curator Claire, directed the artists toward finding a workable
framework for connecting their differing practices.
